Understanding the Dashboard

Users who want to understand the main dashboard layout and what information is displayed when they log in.

Dashboard Overview
The dashboard is your home base in QuoteBuilder. It gives you a quick overview of your business activity and provides shortcuts to common actions.
Step 1: Review Statistics Cards
At the top of the dashboard, you'll see statistics cards showing key metrics:
- Open Quotes — Quotes that haven't been sent yet
- Sent Quotes — Quotes waiting for customer response
- Approved — Quotes the customer has accepted
- This Month — Revenue or quote value for the current month
Note: Statistics update in real-time as you create and manage quotes.
Step 2: View Recent Activity
Below the statistics, you'll find your most recent quotes and orders:
- See the Quote Number, Customer, and Status at a glance
- Click any row to open that quote
- Use the tabs to filter by status (All, Open, Sent, etc.)
Step 3: Use Quick Actions
The top navigation bar provides quick actions:
- Click the + button or New dropdown to create:
- New Sales Quote
- New Rental Quote
- New Proposal
- Access these from any page in the application
Troubleshooting
Problem: Dashboard shows no data
Cause: You haven't created any quotes yet.
Solution: This is normal for new accounts. Create your first quote to see data populate.
Problem: Statistics seem incorrect
Cause: You may be viewing a filtered date range.
Solution: Check if any date filters are applied and clear them.
Problem: Can't access the dashboard
Cause: You may not have the dashboard permission.
Solution: Contact your account administrator to grant dashboard access.
